Academic Introduction

Hello, my name is Tamara Rodríguez and I´m eighteen years old. I´m studing psychology at University of Chile. Now, this is my second semester in the major and I think that I learned things so interestings that motivate me to continue studying. After the last semester, I feel more inspired to continue geting the most knowledge about psychology that I can, I think that the human mind and its behaviour is very complicated to undertand and this is why I want to learn about psychology: this one could help me to closer to the human behaviour and the forms to understand it. My goals in this five years are related to that, I want to study for closer to the human mind and work with it. I would like to work as a psychology, and I can imagine me in that. I think in me, working in a hospital or a clinic, try to help the people to resolve their problems.
I have to admit that I´m very ambitiuos person about knowledge, and I want to learn more things than that. For example, when I finish my major of psychology, I would like to study pedagogy in history -and if the time is on my side- I would like to study literature. Both for pleasure. However, I don´t want to be a teacher, I prefer knowledge before kids. 

English Language Challenges

English Language Challenges

I can´t believe that this is the last class, the time passed faster than I expected. Nevertheless, I think that I learn so many things thanks to this subject. Practice English twice for week make me improve my vocabulary, my grammar and my pronunciation. Maybe in some occasions practice English after a long day is not my favorite option, but I have to admit that make me very well to improve my knowledge in English.

The course was being nice; I liked every class that we have because I think that they were so interesting and enriching. In the most of them, I can learn something new, either a word or a form to write a phrase. Something so interesting and awesome was used the blog, made different post about so many theme become so new and good for improving our knowledge.

However, I still need to improve my grammar and for that, I want to continue write constantly in English to not lose the practice. I know that is difficult, but If I want to progress, is the best thing that I can to do. And I think, that is always good continue try to improve my pronunciation to reach a greater fluency, this objective I don´t know how get it, because, outside the class are very few time that I can practice.

These days, I use English only for watching movies. I try to watch movies in English to meet better the language and can adapt me more quickly to some strange pronunciations and words.  That is all, good bye.

Changes to My Study Programme

When I saw the curriculum of the career, I liked it so much and that's why I wanted to enter in this university, but I never thought about wanting to change something or wondering why these subjects would be taught in specific. Even now, I wouldn´t know very well what I would like to change, probably I would like to incorporate something that withdrew from the career (gender), I would also like the career take a more feminist approach because, as psychologists, we must educate ourselves in relation a way of thinking more fair, trying to combat stereotypes to contribute to the creation of a more egalitarian society.

Therefore, instead of thinking about changing the career curriculum, faculty facilities or the use of technology, I find it more pertinent discuss the time that we spent studying to approve the career. I understand that the "university world" is “other thing”, the secondary school rhythm no longer exists, nor the same opportunities. But the change is sometimes a little abrupt: we are in a different environment, with more difficulty and more academic load and must learn to deal with it, which can be dangerous: the rhythm of life demands constancy and it can generate stress or impotence because sometimes we can´t comply with everything. Sometimes, the academic burden becomes very heavy, which means taking more time than necessary, making the study absorb us. And that is not good.

It would be good to create a curriculum that doesn´t drive the student "crazy". It would be good to understand that sometimes it is difficult to have free time for all the projects that we have.

I would like to change that, improve the curriculum of the career so that students can study what they like but without "losing their head".

Winter Holidays

Winter Holidays

I never make plans for winter holidays because I never accomplish them. I remember that, every time I made one, I  did  the contrary. For this reason, I prefer to live the holydays without plans because I have to admit that I always end up doing the same: sleeping late, and rest all day.

This time, I try to be more realistic and I have only one plan: I would like to go to the snow . Just that. Well, I would like go to the beach too, but I don´t have a good health and the cold of the beach makes me sick faster. For this, I prefer to stay home and try to protect my body from possible colds...

The rest of the time, I want to spend it resting, sleeping late, going to visit my grandparents and reading every book that I have in my summer list, but I don´t want to touch any book of psychology, I think that my love for them is over for now jajaja, nevertheless, If the love comes back in some moment, I don´t have problems to continue studying psychology in my winter holydays.

I would like to add that, in this moment, I hope the vacations with so much expectation: I need to sleep more than five hours everyday. And I want to have time for more things than just studying. I want to have time to do other activities, I want to draw, read and do exercises.

My Favorite TV show

How I meet your mother 

"How I meet your mother" is an American sitcom, created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, and it was 

released in September of 2005. The plot of this sitcom is about a man: Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) and his four best friends. The story begins in 2030, with Ted related to his children how he met their mother, and like this in every episode narrates a different event that takes him to their mother. 

The sitcom has 9 seasons (208 episodes)

Well, I´m not a big fan of series of television. only because I don´t have the comitment for it. Even, it always happens to me that I watch the first episode, some of the final, and the last one. I can understand the serie when this one is short, but it is almost impossible when it addresses about long series like this one. In this case, my brother knew this serie and he told me everyday that I needed to watch it, but complete. And I did it, when I have a free moment, I try to watch some episode, It took me some time, but I did it. And now, this is my favorite sitcom. 

I like so much, in the first place for the characters, all appeared to me so nice and singular. In special Ted Mosby: an eternal romantic that believes in the true love, who tries -of the best way- to learn about every love experience. In the second place, the serie has so many real and funny situations and it shows us the value of the real friendship in the length of the time.

I would like to add that I don´t have a favorite episode. It was a surprise for me, but I found every episode so good. I recommend to watch it, I know that it is very long, but you will not regret to spend your time in that.

Postgraduate Studies

Postgraduate Studies 

I love psychology very much . I think that this one is so interesting and curious, and I would learn things about this all my life. Nevertheless, I am an ambitious person about knowledge and I want to learn more things, for that, I would like -when I finish my career of psychology- to study pedagogy in history and work as a teacher, and if the time is on my side, I would like to study literature. Both for pleasure. 

The first one, because I have always liked history very much, I think that this one is important for our daily life because knowing about our mistakes, we can try to change the future or try to fix the mistakes of the past. This reminds me a good phrase: "A town without memory, is a town without future", this phare appeared so interesting for me because I like history so much for this: we need to know to remember the injustices and like this, change the future and dated the things that hurt the town (like the military dictatorship, for example). 

The second one, is for hobby, I always like to read and write very much, even when I was a little girl, I always dreamed to be a write -or a famous writed, on really-. I still want this, it will be my frustrated dream jajaja.

My future job

My future job

When I think in the future, I don´t have a clear vision about it, because so many times I decide take changes so radicals that change my plan of life. Psychology, for example, was my first priority when I have thirteen, but that change with the years (because pedagogy in history was in my options, too) and only, I decide definitely the last year for it. Now, I think in that how the job that I want.

I would like to work as a psychology, and I can imagine me in that. I think in me, working in a hospital or a clinic, try to help the people to resolve their problems.

Would I like to travel for my job? Yeah, I would like to travel and can know and learn how the psychology works in other countries and cultures. It be excellent learn more about the problems that the people have in different places of the word... In that case, I can´t work in a office, obviously, but I don´t have any problem, I think that always is enriching work in different situations.

I think that it is important to say that I am ready to work so hard in my career for reach that. Psychology appeared to me so interesting and I want to learn so much about it. I hope that I can learn so much things that I can apply in my daily life. And I hope (that is so important to me) try to help the people to change their bad mentality about the life: I will try to show them, that with hard work and positivity mentality, they can try to get over their problems.

Election Day

Election Day

A polemic theme, nevertheless so important for everybody as a nation. I think that more than approving or disapproving the act of voting, it´s important to know the relevance that this means in our lives beacuse in this simple act we can exercise democracy.

Personally, I prefer voting and I will vote this next elections because I think that I can make the diference.

However I would like the people vote but well-informed about the electoral campaigns because the 

majority vote misinformed or only for voting. This is so important: know about the proposals of every campaign and vote consciously.

I don´t like the electoral campaigns very much, because I believe that the politicians take advantage of the necessities of the people to make fake proposals only for people who vote for them. This appered to me so disastrous. But, we need to try to know this risk and evaluate the proposals for voting, at least, for someone convincing.

It´s important to consider, the qualities of the person that we will vote for. I think that she/he needs to be honest, fair, critc and good. And with these qualities, can help the country and the people.

I consider to get involved in politic, but I will never do it. More than everything, because, I lost the faith in the politics, I prefer to have hope only  in the persons, they (or we) make the changes that the country needs.

Hum, I would really like that the electoral campaigns was more real, that they talked about the real changes that they could do, and didn´t make promises just to "look" good.

Someone I'd like to meet

Someone I´d like to meet...

If I had the oportunity, I´d love to meet  Leonardo DiCaprio. He is a famous American actor, film producer and a important environmental activist. His most recognized movie is "Titanic" with the role of Jack Dawson. And in 2015, he won the Oscar with the movie "The Revenant". 

Personally, I really love four movies where he is protagonist: "Titanic", "Inception",  "Shutter Island" and "The Great Gatsby", the last one, is my favorite movie, that it is even better than the book.

I would like to meet him beacuse, more than being a famous actor, he is a committed ecologist. It seems to me so good that the celebrities worry about the world and use their fame to try to change the mentality of people about the care of  the world. In fact, I would like to ask him why he decided (and it seems to me so awesome) to use his speech of gratitude in the Oscars awards to talk about the climatic change. That apperared to me so interesting, how his agreement with the world is so important to him.

Also, I would like to meet him because he seems to be a interesting and nice person.

A concert of...

A concert of...

Fall out boy, my favorite band. The band is formed by 4 guys: Patrick, Joe, Peter and Andy.
I always wanted to see their show and listened to their music live. But I never had this oportunity until the 2014 concert when they came to Chile, but even that year, I couldn´t get this oportunity. I can´t remember so well the exactly day of the concert, but I remember it was in May, in the cutural center "Chimkowe" in Peñalolén. The publicity was in every bus that I took and I knew I could not go to the concert, why? The place (Peñalolén) and the time wasn´t the most ideal for me jajaja. Nevertheless, a friend could go to see them...

He told me that it was amazing and he showed me so many pictures and videos of the concert!. Every moment looked awesome! They sang the songs of the last cd and some old songs. I love that they continue singing the old songs that I like a lot. It makes me remember how I met them: for accident in a program of MTV...

korea

A country I would like to visit...

Well, I would like to visit Korea and specifically the city ofSeúl. I don´t have a particular reason to go there, but I think it is because I like so many things about this place: the language, the appearance of the people, their culture... I know about this place only a few words of their vocabulary and a little about their culture, however I would like to learn a lot about this country and the wonderfull things that can offer.

   

   

I would love to visit the "Cheonggyecheon", that is a place for public recreation in the middle of Seúl. This place looks so beautiful because mixes the nature with the city, as if the nature burst in the city... Also, I would like to visit the hill "Suraksan" in the city Namyangju and the national park "Bukhansan" in Gyeonggi.

 

Hum, I wouldn´t like to live there indefinitely, but I would like live there some years to know the language well and their form of living and history.

Hello everyone! My name is Tamara Rodríguez, but I love my nickname that is Tamy , I am eighteen years old and I am studying psychology at University of Chile. 
Hum, my weakness in English is that sometimes I can´t remember well how write correctly a word, because I have a bad memory jajaja but my strength (I suppose) is that I have a good pronunciaton or maybe is that I like very much english, too (that can be a strength? jaja) I hope I can continue improving everything that I know about English until now.
